Generosity Water

The well we sponsored in Tinkong, Ghana!

Did you know that 1 billion people (that’s 1 out of 6) in the world today do not have access to clean drinking water? Through partnership with Generosity Water (http://www.mygenerositywater.org/), LCPC Parent Education set out to sponsor building a well, which will supply clean and safe drinking water to a village for 20 years!  Thanks to everyone’s generous support, we reached our goal and a well was built in the village of Tinkong, Ghana.

There are about 750 people in Tinkong, and many children from smaller villages come to Tinkong for school.  Before this well was completed, children had to cross a busy road to fetch water.  Madam Mary Kumi, the head teacher of the school, wrote that “Getting good drinking water for the children’s daily use was cumbersome and time wasting.  A teacher is delegated daily to assist the children as they cross the main trunk road to the main town in search of water and this always leads to a waste of hours.  Thank you very much for helping with the provision of water on the compound.”

What a gift to be able to make a profound difference in the lives of others — this is truly a community effort and we couldn’t have done it without all of your support.

Help us build another well!  Generosity Water bottles are still available for sale for $15 each.  Your purchase supports LCPC Parent Education, and helps raise awareness about the global need for clean water.  These reusable, stainless-steel water bottles make wonderful gifts, are well-suited for sports teams, and are a perfect complement to children’s lunch boxes.  To purchase a bottle, please contact the Parent Education Office at (818) 790-6708, ext. 205  or email us at sandy@lacanadapc.org.  Thank you for your generosity!
