AN ADVENT DAY APART
How would you like to experience the Coming of the Christ Child this season?
Too often we find ourselves overwhelmed and frustrated with the busyness and demands of the Christmas season. We promise ourselves that we’re going to do it different “next time” but somehow it all gets away from us. Mark your calendar now for Saturday, December 14th and make room at “the inn of your heart” during this Advent Season.
Format for the Day
The schedule includes worship, scripture reflection, extended time with God in quiet and prayer, and sharing in spiritual community. A trained facilitator will guide and lead the time, and Spiritual Direction is available upon request.
Whether you are a long-time practitioner or new to the idea of solitude and silence, the day is designed to support and encourage you. This retreat is designed to give you unhurried time and uncluttered space to listen for God’s voice in your life. Tools and resources are provided to assist you in noticing how God might be making himself known to you.
A specially prepared lunch is one more expression of welcome and hospitality. (Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions)
Location and Setting
The retreat is held on the historic grounds of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy with sweeping views of Pasadena and the Flintridge Hills. Beautiful lawns and grounds invite you to a restful stroll and gathering rooms and patios are set apart for reading and quiet.
