Sunday, December 9, 3:00-5:00 PM  

We are excited to add the drama ministry to our family advent this year!  We will start our evening in the Sanctuary with the children’s choirs and drama ministry. They are working together to put on a family friendly performance that all ages will enjoy. Then we will move to the Family Life Center for snacks and a special family craft.  Families will be creating a unique advent calendar and filling the pockets with fun and easy things to help you grow spiritually as a family.  You will also have a chance to take your annual nativity photo.  The cost is $10/family for the snacks and family craft project.

Family Christmas Eve Services

4:00 & 5:30 p.m.

Twin sisters Janet Boggs & Judy Brock will lead the worship music for the Christmas Eve services which are specifically designed for the whole family – children to grandparents and everything in-between.

Featured at 4:00 will be the Cherub Choir (grades K-2) and at 5:30 the Celebrate Singers (grades 3-6) and FaithVoice (jr. high praise choir).

The music will be a blend of traditional carols, contemporary Christmas songs and even Elizabethan sounds from 16th century England. Instrumentation for the service includes guitars, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, pennywhistle, chimes, bass and percussion.

Drama, multi-media and a candle-lit (battery) conclusion will complete this unique and inspirational celebration of Jesus’ birth.

 

Birthday Party for Jesus

Sunday, December 16th

Children in the red, yellow and blue rooms (3 years-K) will be dropped off and picked up in their regular classrooms, but will come together for a large group music and story time.  We will also celebrate Jesus’ birth with an exciting craft, singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and having cupcakes.

Preschoolers will have the wonderful opportunity to help children in need by bringing a gift for a baby.  Gifts will be given to Olive View Hospital for families in need with newborns.  Help your preschooler pick out a new, unopened baby item from the list below to bring to the party.
