What We Offer:

Entering its 38th year, the Parent Education program offers something for all families with children 0-18!

Weekly Parent-Child Classes are for parents and their children ranging in ages from infants to five-years old.  Parent-Only classes are offered for parents of school-age children ranging from K through 12th grade.

For children, it is an opportunity to spend one-on-one time with mom or dad, while exploring a rich and varied environment with children their own age. For parents, there are discussions on pertinent parenting issues led by a staff of experienced, caring teachers specially trained in child development, family counseling, and education.   Teacher assistants, who are also experienced with children, facilitate confidence and comfort–as well as maintaining a stimulating and safe environment.

Parent Ed. is a program that nurtures parents and children in a Christian atmosphere. One of the greatest benefits is the encouragement and support parents receive on their parenting journey.

In April, be sure to register for our June Summer Family Class (for parents and children 0-5). Classes fill quickly —so register early!

For 38 years LCPC’s Parent Education Program has maintained its legacy of quality education & reputable staff!  Approximately 400 parents and children from 22 cities come to campus every week for classes–driving from a 30-mile radius of La Canada. “I’ve been in Parent Ed for 5 years, starting when my daughter was 8 weeks old. It’s nearly impossible to summarize how much I have learned from this program, said Pasadena mom, Jill Longo. Dr. Katrina Harbers from La Crescenta who has been in the program for 15 years, stated: “I have learned to much as mom and a Christian being surrounded by wonderful parents who are going through the same struggles that I am.”  Long time participant Carmen Del Castillo  from La Canada added: “I feel that LCPC Parent Education and the beautiful people in it have touched my life and moved me closer to the person I have always wanted to be.”

Mission Statement

The La Canada Parent Education Program is a ministry committed to drawing families to Christ, His Church, and each other.

We strive to encourage loving and effective parenting by teaching concepts of human development, strategies for building stronger families, and an appreciation for the uniqueness of both parent and child.

In addition, we seek to create a warm, caring community of faith within each class which will provide meaningful support and encouragement to parents in their parenting journeys.
