For parents, a caring teacher with child development training, leads discussions on parenting issues as well as provides informative hand-outs. It is a place to ask questions, share experiences, and build friendships. Some of the topics that will be discussed include sleep issues, nutrition, baby proofing, car seat safety, separation issues, discipline, building self esteem, family traditions and co-parenting.

For parents, it is an excellent chance to observe their children in a group setting. A caring teacher, who is specially trained in child development, leads discussions on parenting issues as well as provides informative hand-outs. It is a place to ask questions, share experiences, and build friendships. Some of the topics that will be discussed are: toddler development, toddlers and sleep, nurturing your parenting relationships, reading to toddlers, the hurried child, balancing discipline and the toddler’s independence/autonomy. For children, this is a time each week for undivided attention from mom or dad as well as an opportunity to explore a rich and varied environment with other children their own age. The Teacher Assistant works closely with the children in a caring and creative manner, facilitating confidence and comfort during class and discussion times. Children also enjoy free play, seasonal crafts, and outdoor playtime.

    This class is for parents and their children born from 12/2/11 to 12/1/13. Early Literacy, Kindergarten Preparedness, Creative Play and Making Friends! Welcome to our Three/Fours Class! Enjoy a weekly class with an experienced Parent Education Teacher exploring raising your preschooler using Whole Brained, Whole Hearted parenting strategies. Topics include Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten, Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child, Mindful Parenting and Raising Happy Children Who Thrive. Children will enjoy creative craft projects, song and story time, wonderful opportunities for indoor and outdoor imaginative play, and creating new friendships. Our annual Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt, Scrapbook project with photos and art projects and fun adult crafts and art journaling will be a cherished memory of this sweet season of life together. Quality childcare is also available for siblings.

Created with the whole family in mind and combining the latest research, discussion topics focus on themes such as sibling rivalry and bonding, parenting relationships, creating peaceful, faith-filled homes, and embracing our imperfections. Non-ambulating babies are welcome in discussion room and must be worn.

    Welcome to Parenting Your Elementary Kids (PEK). This weekly class for parents of  Kindergarten through 4th grades will cover the latest in brain research and how it practically relates to our children’s development, learning, behavior, and relationships. In a spiritually rich environment, participants will learn specific parenting strategies in managing behavior, building self esteem, dealing with peer relationships and sibling rivalry from a Whole Brained, Whole Hearted parenting approach. We will also cover early literacy and learning, homework, balancing extracurricular activities and hectic schedules and discuss the growing use of technology in our children’s lives today. Parents will gain ideas for creating a strong family culture and identity-while also exploring the adventures and joys of raising children in the 21st century. We invite you to join us each Thursday morning for this research based, educational, and encouraging class!

    This class for parents of tweens (grades 5th-8th) will provide a weekly forum for relevant child development information, parenting resources, peer support, and family fun ideas. Parents will learn through large and small group discussions regarding pre-adolescent issues such as: peer relationships, new patterns of family communication, physical and intellectual changes, dealing with the tween “attitude”, and media guidelines. Parents will learn how to adjust family traditions, and add more fun holiday ideas, to maintain connection with their tween.

    This lively class creates an opportunity for support and sharing concerns while addressing issues facing teens – mind, body and soul.  Topics will include: understanding the teen brain, mental health (stress, anxiety, self control, anger), peer influences, communication, the influence of technology and media, college prep, spiritual growth, homework hassles and driving.  Special attention will be on the topics of letting go and raising independent teens who thrive and are resilient; as well as the importance of real presence in parenting teens.


  • PARENTING YOUR EXCEPTIONAL CHILD (PEC)

    Parenting your Exceptional Child is a six week class for parents of K-8th grades who need encouragement, support, education and resources for parenting their exceptional child (ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum, Gifted, etc.).  Parents will have the opportunity to meet weekly with an experienced Parent Education teacher and collaborate with other parents facing the same challenges in raising a child with exceptional needs, gifts and/or circumstances. Discussion topics will include: Parenting Methods for Raising an Exceptional Child, Supporting Learning and Managing School Challenges, Raising Happy Kids Who Thrive and Understanding Ways to Support Your Child’s Developing Mind.


2016-17 General Information

  • All classes are $15 per class!
  • Cost for each parent/child class (30 weeks): $450/year + $75 non-refundable enrollment fee
  • If you have more than one child in the same parent/child class (twins, triplets or siblings), the class price is an additional $150/child/year or $75/child/semester. Parents interested in registering multiple child qualify for a reduced cost of $75/child/semester. Discount applied at checkout.
  • Cost for parent-only PEK, Upper Elementary,Tweeners and Teens classes (28 weeks): $420/year + $75 non-refundable enrollment fee
  • You may pay by semester— For the parent-child classes: 1st semester: $300 ($225 + $75), 2nd semester: $225 (late fee of $25 charged after due date for 2nd semester installment January 10, 2016.).  For parent-only PEK, Upper Elementary, Tweeners and Teens classes, 1st semester only is $210 + $75 non-refundable enrollment fee.
  • Please read birth dates carefully so that you will be in the developmentally-appropriate class.
  • For optimum benefit from this program, parents are expected to attend class regularly.
  • Classes may be canceled due to insufficient enrollment or as necessary. Teacher assignments may change.

Parent Education Refund Policy
Effective for 2016-17 school year

All requests for refunds must be in writing and submitted to the Parent Education Administrative Assistant. Postmarks will determine refund category for mailed requests.

  • All Fall Semester Classes –
    Prior to start date of first class: 100% refund minus enrollment fee. From start date of first class until October 15th: 50% refund minus enrollment fee. After October 15th: No refunds for 1st semester.
  • For Spring Babies and Second Semester Classes –
    Prior to start date of first class: 100% refund minus enrollment fee. From start date of first class until March 15th: 50% refund minus enrollment fee. After March 15th: No refunds
