The Pastors and Staff of La Canada Presbyterian Church are listed below. Our passion is to train you to be Christ’s person in the world– at church, at home and in the places where you spend the most of your time between Sundays.
A native of Southern California, Gareth graduated from high school in Chatsworth, did his undergrad at UC Riverside and earned an MA in Music from Cal State LA. Sensing a call to pastoral ministry, Gareth enrolled at Fuller Seminary and joined LCPC –yes, here!– as an Adult Education Intern, a Candidate for Ordination in the PCUSA, and our Assistant Music Director (1979-81). (I’ve already heard many of you remember him from those days).
He holds an M.Div and a D.Min from Fuller, where he also worked as Adjunct Professor and Director of their Doctor of Ministry Program (1987-90). Gareth has served pastorates at Presbyterian Churches in Sherman Oaks, Highland Park (Dallas), Bethlehem (PA), National (DC), and most recently West Side (NJ – NYC suburb).
Gareth has also written an internationally acclaimed and used textbook – Biblical Foundations for Small Group Ministry which focuses on spiritual formation and discipleship via Christian community. He and his wife Vida have been married 40 years and have two adult daughters and a granddaughter. Gareth is excited and honored to be “back home” with us.

Megan is a pastor, wife, and mother who is learning daily what it means to follow Jesus and join in God’s mission in the world. Before going into ministry, Megan spent a year volunteering for non-profits in South Africa and six years working for non-profits in Chicago serving the poor and vulnerable. Although Megan was raised by a Presbyterian pastor, she did not come to faith in Jesus until her mid-twenties. Her 10 years alienated from church, as well as her experience in secular social service work, gives her a commitment to make the Good News of Jesus Christ and His Church relevant for the under-served and un-churched. To that end, she has focused her ministry on outreach, previously working as Director of Outreach at LCPC and as Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa. In her spare time, you can find her spending quality time with her husband, Harout, and son, David, hiking in the San Gabriel mountains, and working with women in recovery.
