The Jack Lantz Sextet will present a Jazz Vespers concert and worship experience featuring the jazz versions of hymns, spirituals, and gospel music in the La Cañada Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 21 at 5 p.m. The music and liturgy for this edition are built around the themes of Easter, Spring, and Joy!

LCPC Jazz Vespers is presented live and in-person in the sanctuary at LCPC. In addition, it will be livestreamed – see the link below.

The April 21 Jazz Vespers program will feature the Jack Lantz Sextet (Lance Rickman, saxophones; Anne King, trumpet; Ido Meshulam, trombone; Nick Morabito, bass, Dave Marks, drums, and Jack Lantz on piano) improvising on a wide range of familiar hymns and gospel music, in swing style. Simple liturgy and background stories will be used to connect the music. “Jazz is a great way for us to express the joy of Easter resurrection and the new blooms of spring,” says Jack Lantz, LCPC’s Director of Music & Worship Arts.

No charge (freewill offering received) and no reservations required for this hour-long event. Join us for an extraordinary celebration of joy, energy and liberation, as we celebrate life and the gifts of God.

La Canada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd, La Canada, CA 91011. For further information, call the church office at (818) 790-6708 or visit lacanadapc.org.
