A Morning Together for Women
May 22 @ 9:45 am - 12:00 pm
Women – Please join us for “A Morning Together”–a half day women’s retreat outdoors on LCPC’s patio Sat. May 22nd from 9:45 am-12pm featuring prayer, music, a speaker, and small group discussion. We’ll be looking at the themes of hope and perseverance as we reflect on “re-entry” after Covid. This will be a much needed time to share our lives and our faith. Light refreshments will be served and Covid-safety protocols including masks and social distancing will be in place. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
Our speaker for the morning will be Lisa Liou. Lisa has served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for 19 years and is currently a Regional Director in the Western US. She lives in Monrovia with her husband and two kids. She has a degree from Fuller Seminary in Biblical Studies and loves teaching scripture. Over the years, she has taught at the Urbana Missions Convention, InterVarsity’s Faculty Conferences, and MOPS.
Permission to Focus: Jesus’ Gifts and Invitations in a Post-Pandemic World
“I’ve always been bothered by tales of Mary and Martha and the contrasts between these sisters. After all, we all know that women and siblings do not benefit from and often fall prey to comparisons. But there’s something in Martha’s hustling to entertain Jesus that we might be feeling as we reopen our lives. Jesus’ affirmation of Mary and invitation to Martha is particularly relevant to us today. Let’s consider the gifts Jesus has for us as we begin to emerge from the pandemic.” – Lisa Liou
