Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday and culminating with the celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter, is one of the most important weeks of the Church’s calendar. La Cañada Presbyterian Church (LCPC) will be celebrating with Sunday worship services, special evening services, and other meaningful events and invites all to participate.
Two evening services will help remember the events of Holy Week leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. On Maundy Thursday, April 14, at 7:00pm, LCPC will offer a traditional service with communion, looking back at the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples as well as his betrayal and arrest. On Good Friday, April 15, at 7:00pm, LCPC will remember Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross by offering an interactive, contemporary service for all ages led by our Family Ministry team.
Easter Sunday is an opportunity to remember that Jesus did not stay in the grave, as Christians all over the world proclaim, “Christ is Risen!” Celebrate this good news with LCPC by coming to any of several worship services offered on Easter morning, April 17.
Celebrate the “Risen Son” at a Sunrise Service at La Cañada’s Memorial Park (1301 Foothill Blvd) at 6:30am. We ask that you please bring chairs, blankets, or something else to sit on.
Traditional Worship Services featuring LCPC’s Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will be held at 8:00am and 9:30am.
A Contemporary Worship Service led by LCPC’s Praise Band will be offered at 11:00am.
Both the 9:30am and 11:00am services will be simulcast into Fellowship Hall for a family-friendly option with children’s activities and snacks, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for children (toddlers through sixth grade).
The community is welcome to bring a flower or two to help decorate a cross that will be on the upper patio.
All are invited to spread joy by bringing an Art Therapy Easter basket for refugee/immigrant children. Bring a filled Easter basket along with art canvases (8x10in, 8x8in, or 11x14in) and acrylic paint sets (in or with the basket) to any of the services at the church on Easter or to the LCPC church office during the week prior to Easter.
All services (except Sunrise Service) and the concert are at LCPC’s campus, 626 Foothill Blvd, La Cañada Flintridge. They will also be live-streamed at live.lacanadapc.org. All are welcome to participate in celebrating Easter with LCPC!
