Celebrate Spring with Streamed
‘Feel the Spirit’ Concert by LCPC!
Sunday, March 28th at 2 PM
In these challenging and sometimes tumultuous times, many of us find the need to “feel the spirit” – to find confidence and guidance to love, live and move forward. The LCPC Chancel Choir and Orchestra will present a concert exploring our American spirituals and spirituality using favorite music from American’s heartland. American spirituality uses the diverse and often profound music of the blend of races and cultures that comprise America.
This special concert will be streamed on Sunday, March 28 at 2 p.m. via the LCPC website at: live.lacanadapc.org
This concert features the 60-person Chancel Choir and 55-person LCPC Orchestra directed by Jack Lantz in a wide range of beloved “All-American” songs. From “Amazing Grace” to “Deep River” and “Shenandoah” to “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands” to “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Every song was born in America, from the cotton fields of the American South, the hills of Kentucky, the deserts of the Southwest, the rivers of Tennessee and the mountains of New England.
Featured soloists are John McLean Allan on bagpipes, Rebecca Sjöwall and Diane Wallace singing “Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit,” and Matthew Thomas singing “Steal Away,” plus some surprises, all accompanied by the choir and orchestra. And adding visual depth to many of the musical selections will be videos and artwork projections – making a truly amazing multimedia event.
“Feel the Spirit” will include a cast of more than 120 singers and instrumentalists directed by Jack Lantz, LCPC’s Director of Music and Worship Arts. Join us to bathe in the splendor of our great American folk hymns and songs and soak up our spiritual music heritage.
La Canada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd. Worship services are streamed on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. (traditional style) and 11 a.m. (contemporary style) via the LCPC website, on YouTube and via Facebook. In addition, the 11 a.m. service is presented outside in person in the church’s Lower Patio.
