May 9 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
La Cañada Presbyterian Church features a new Jazz Vespers that sings of hope in the midst of the continuing pandemic. As most of us continue to stay at home and get to know our families better, our LCPC Jazz Vespers Group has produced a one-hour jazz worship that speaks to us about HOPE in these challenging and isolating times.
The May 9 Jazz Vespers program will feature the Jack Lantz Sextet (Jack on piano, Jeff Kaye, trumpet, Lance Rickman, saxophones, Ido Meshulam, trombone, Nick Morabito, bass and Dave Marks, drums). The theme for this session is finding HOPE in God to deal with these challenging times. As usual, the band will improvise on familiar hymns, jazz and gospel tunes. Between musical selections, Jack will provide the inspirational back story behind the songs. And the program is wrapped in simple liturgy for the day.
How can sacred jazz speak to us in this continuing pandemic? Tune in to hear, worship and celebrate God’s presence in our world today. Follow this link to watch:
