Beacon Housing

Creating Promotional/Marketing Videos | Beacon Housing is looking for a volunteer to assist their employees and volunteers in creating promotional/marketing videos. This will be an occasional, remote volunteer position. BH will work with the individual to create a schedule. They are looking for a volunteer who is knowledgeable in video creation--the position would be assisting current staff. The videos will be 2-3 minute videos to promote awareness of their non-profit, mission and services.

Door of Hope

Meal Donors | DOH is looking to provide and drop off dinners at our 2 locations in Pasadena. Volunteers may pick a recurring day, cover one or both locations--the need is a flexible opportunity. Depending on location, volunteers are providing a meal for 7 to 12 adults. People can volunteer individually, as a group (family, LifeGroup, etc.)
When | Ongoing need Monday-Thursday evenings with delivery between 5:30-5:45.
Where | Pasadena locations (669 N. Los Robles and the second location a few blocks from there)
Additional Details | Please drop off meals in disposable pans. Unfortunately due to necessary COVID precautions, donors are unable to join the families for dinner. Masks are required for dropping off meals.

Translation Services (Spanish currently) |
DOH is looking for someone bilingual in Spanish and English (adult or college age) to help translate during case management and therapy sessions. The volunteer must agree to a background check and any in-person appearances will require proof of vaccination and masks.
When | Ongoing usually Monday - Thursday evenings between 5pm - 8pm. Some daytime services are needed as well
Where | All 4 locations - some addresses are undisclosed until the approval process happens. Can be in person or virtual.

Elizabeth House

(Ongoing) Meals for Elizabeth House Residents | Volunteers can help provide dinner to the residents of Elizabeth House. You can sign up to serve one meal or make an ongoing commitment. Volunteers can serve as individuals or volunteer as a group (family, LifeGroup, etc).
When | Any evening, Monday-Thursday at 5PM
Where | Elizabeth House, 760 Santa Barbara St. in Pasadena
Additional Details | Masks must be worn inside at all times, and volunteers must have their temperature taken when you arrive. (Staff and residents are tested weekly for COVID).

After School Homework Volunteer (tutoring: K3, 45, MS)
When | Tuesday - Thursday,  45min. - 1hr., (days and times vary per program)
Where | In-person (proof of vaccination required). Locations vary within Pasadena,CA.
Who | Proof of vaccination is required for all our in-person volunteers. We have virtual opportunities as well. Starting age for volunteers is 14+. It is possible for teens & families to volunteer together for our k-3 program.

After School Enrichment Leader (facilitating a specific skill(s) workshops for k-12 students)
When | Tuesday - Thursday, 1:45hr, (days and times vary per program)
Where | Hybrid - virtual (zoom) & in-person (proof of vaccination required). Locations vary within Pasadena,CA.
Who |  Proof of vaccination is required for all our in-person volunteers. We have virtual opportunities as well. Starting age for volunteers is 14+. Experience on the topic/skill you will be teaching. Enrichments our students are interested in are: cooking, art, music, sports, auto mechanics, sewing clothes, astronomy, financial literacy, and mental wellness. We are open to skills beyond this list!

After School High School Group Mentoring
When |

Where | In-person at Montrose Church (proof of vaccination required).
Who | Proof of vaccination is required for all our in-person volunteers. Ideal Group Mentor is an adult that cares about youth, enjoys building relationships, and is comfortable facilitating conversations.

Mentor (for students 5th-12th)
When | Tailored to the Mentee and Mentors schedule.
Where | Hybrid - virtual (zoom) & in-person (proof of vaccination required).
Who | Proof of vaccination is required for all our in-person volunteers. We have virtual opportunities as well. An Ideal Mentor is an adult that cares about youth, enjoys building relationships, and is flexible.

Dinner for High School students (prepare a meal to nourish our HS students)
When |  Tuesdays, dropped off between 3PM-5PM at Montrose Church.
Where | From your own home or at Villa 500, in-person (proof of vaccination required).
Who | Proof of vaccination is required for all our in-person volunteers. Starting age for volunteering  is 14+ (an exception when younger kids, if they volunteer with a chaperone).  It is possible for teens & families to volunteer together! We would love to have a dish that is particular to your culture/family. More parameters will be communicated once the volunteer is onboarded.

Union Station

“ADOPT A MEAL”  | The Union Station Homeless Shelter is looking for volunteers to support the kitchen team with breakfast and lunch at the Adult Center. Volunteers can help out by cooking, plating, and cleaning up during their shifts. All volunteers at USHS must show proof of vaccination before volunteering.
