PRAYER CALENDAR - front page of website (1536x 864)

Together, using the prayer calendar, we will pray for each of LCPC’s Outreach Partners and Ministries this year. The prayer calendar has a specific LCPC ministry or Outreach Partner for each week. Read below for the ministry or Outreach Partner’s current prayer requests as well as a spiritual practice for each week. You can also sign up to receive a weekly email in your inbox with the week’s prayer requests and practice. Printed copies of the calendar are available in the office during the week and in the Narthex/Lobby on Sunday mornings.

March 2024

March 2024

Week 1 (March 3 - 9): South American Theological Seminary

The South American Theological Seminary (SATS) in Brazil educates Christian leaders for service. In the pursuit of Christian excellence of mind, body, soul, and community, the mission of SATS is to prepare leaders for service in the Kingdom of God. Scholarships and books for these students provide trained leadership that the local church and outreach ministries need while continuing to serve in their churches and in outreach among the poor.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for the team who will visit SATS soon to celebrate their 30 years of ministry and LCPC’s partnership with them! Pray protection over their health and safety and sleep. Pray God will bring rich relationship connections during and after the trip.

Give thanks to God for His faithfulness these past 30 years. May the celebrations bring Him glory and honor.

Prayer Practice:

Brazil is known for its high value on family. This week, pray for your family. Pray with your family.

Week 2 (March 10 - 16): Free Burma Rangers

Free Burma Rangers (FBR) is a multi-ethnic humanitarian movement working to bring help, hope and love to people in the conflict zones of Burma, Iraq, Sudan, and Syria. Working with local ethnic pro-democracy groups, FBR trains, supplies, and equips indigenous relief teams to provide critical emergency medical care, shelter, food, clothing and human rights documentation in their home regions.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray that the rangers would obey Jesus and be His ambassadors and those whom they reach out to would follow Jesus, too.

Please pray for wisdom on how help people.

Please pray for protection, spiritual and physical, as they operate in warzones – experiencing a lot of physical wounds and even death, as well as operating in spiritual warzones with Jesus leading them.

Please pray for resources – financial as well as personnel.

Finally, they request prayer for the favor of the different countries in which they serve so they are able to help the people in need.

The Free Burma Rangers Global Day of Prayer is Sunday, March 10. Please join them in prayer for a change of heart for the dictators and Burmese Army, for a new government found in love and forgiveness, and for reconciliation and the building of a new Burma.

Week 3 (March 17 - 23): Habitat for Humanity - Tutwiler

For many years, teams of youth and adults from LCPC have traveled to Tutwiler, Mississippi to work with Habitat for Humanity. Together, with the people, churches, and community center in Tutwiler, they help build, renovate, and repair affordable homes for the families in need. This powerful ministry changes the lives of the families in need, and of the teams who go to serve.

Pray for:

Please pray for our youth team as they travel out to Tutwiler, Mississippi this month: for safe travels, pleasant weather, and bountiful energy.

Please continue to pray for the existing community for God’s provision for Tutwiler families whether it is financial or spiritual. We pray for the continued flourishing of the churches in the community and the community center for all they provide for Tutwiler families. We pray prayers of gratitude for Pastor Willie Williams and our building partner JD.

Walk around your own home and your block and thank God for the seeming simplicities of housing: that we have roofs over our heads that are safe places for us to gather together for meals and fellowship. Thank God for our neighbors and that they may continue to find haven in their housing situation.

Week 4 (March 24 - 30): LCPC Visioning Process

LCPC, with the guidance of The Unstuck Group, is engaging in a visioning process – to listen to God and respond with obedience for how to minister and serve our community and world as the people of La Cañada Presbyterian Church in the upcoming years. We are hopeful we will have a clear vision and strategic plan to be more faithful disciples, to have a common mission, to clarify roles and responsibilities, and to help even more people take their next steps with Jesus and deepen their spiritual lives as disciples of Christ.

Prayer Requests:

Pray for wisdom, discernment, courage, and strength for the visioning team: Pastors Ross, Chuck, and Cindy, Directors Jack, Anne, Heather, and Robert, and Elders Barry, Mary, and Matt.

Prayer Practice:

We encourage you to commit to the 30-Days of Prayer, starting April 1, as part of the visioning process. You can access the outline here. If you would like to receive a daily email with the Scripture and prayer, please sign up here.
