We hope to be able to continue this ministry when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
Sharing meals together around a table is a uniquely human activity. Perhaps it's because we know that sharing a table with others reminds us that there's more to food than fuel. We don't eat just for sustenance; tables are one of the most important places of human connection.
So it's no surprise that one of the primary ways Jesus built relationships was by sharing meals with others -- friends, strangers, the outcast, and sometimes his enemies. With Jesus, the table was a place of invitation, hospitality, and blessing.
Dinner for Eight is a once quarterly gathering held in the homes of various hosts from LCPC who are opening their home for hospitality, friendship and fellowship over a meal.
- Dinners are potluck style! Hosts provide the main dish and others complete the meal by bringing a side dish or dessert.
- Multiple locations and dates provide a variety of options this fall.
- Sign up for a gathering for couples, individuals, or families with children.
- There are host homes that can accommodate food allergies and restrictions.
Whether you are new to the LCPC community of faith or you've been here for a while, if you're looking for a way to connect with others and make new friends, we hope you'll be part of Dinner for Eight.
If you are interested in either attending a dinner or being a host, please contact Marian Lamb at dinnerforeight@lacanadapc.org or at the table on the patio.
