Parent Education Gives Back

FosterAll

Jessi Bierling (pictured on the left) spoke at Parent Ed Gala on Feb. 29, 2020 about the urgency of the foster care crisis in Los Angeles county. The gala raised over $70k for FosterAll, a LCPC ministry partner. Click on photo to hear her powerful message.

Lou Moore, FosterAll Executive Director and Kathy Hernandez, Director of Foster Care Programs (pictured on the right with Parent Ed Director Anne Bierling) were in attendance to share about the mission of FosterAll. In December, Parent Ed partnered with FosterAll to provide a drive through Christmas for almost 100 foster children. As families drove through the Christmas Wonderland Stations,  they received Christmas crafts, homemade cookies to decorate (made by Kathy Kovalcik), Jesus Calling (courtesy of the Cathy & Christopher Erskine Compassion Memorial), toys (thanks to the generous patrons of the Parent Ed Toy Drive that collected $1310 in contributions  + 100 in donated toys), a special lunch by Fosterall, and a FREE Christmas Tree (courtesy of Crescenta Canada Family YMCA)!

Love Has No Limits

There are over 40,000 children in foster care in Southern California. LA County alone has more children in foster care than, not only any other county, but any other state in the United States of America. Faith communities can be the solution to this crisis. If two families in every faith community took in a child and the rest of that community wrapped around those families with support, we wouldn’t have enough children!
