HELLO PARENTS

As our city begins to reopen, we too are eager to step into the new normal of youth ministry during COVID-19. We are committed to doing so with an abundance of caution and will strive to put the health and safety of our students and leaders first. The following is a brief overview of the precautions we intend to take as we plan our programs for the Summer.

Staying safe will require the collaborative efforts and the feedback of every student, parent, leader, and staff member. We recognize and respect that each of us will emerge from quarantine at the pace they decide is comfortable. In that spirit, we want to assure you that our staff and leaders will support and reinforce each parents decision to allow or not allow thier teens participation in our in-person programs. For the forseeable future we will continue to offer virtual programs alongside our in-person events.

These are uncharted waters we are wading into and so we ask for your patience and more importanlty your feedback as we continue our mission to BE & MAKE disciples of Jesus who belong, serve, and grow.

OutdoorCovid precautions

OUTDOOR ONLY

REQUIRED PRECAUTION

For the duration of summer, all youth ministry programming will be held exclusively outside. Our main location will be the lower parking lot at LCPC, but we are considering third party locations like spacious backyards and Memorial Park.

MasksCovid precautions

FACE MASKS

REQUIRED PRECAUTION

All students, staff and small group leaders will be required to wear face masks for the duration of any Youth Ministry summer programming event. If a student arrives without one, we will have a supply of disposable face masks they can use for that event.

ScreeningCovid precautions

HEALTH SCREENING

REQUIRED PRECAUTION

We will conduct health screenings for each student before they enter the event. The health screening form will first be available online and in the weekly parent email, but we will also have physical copies at the entry point of the event. We’re asking specifically about COVID symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat).

HandsCovid precautions

Hand Hygiene

REQUIRED PRECAUTION

We will have a hand sanitizer station set up at the entry point of our event to ensure hands have been sanitized before entering. We will also be posting signs about appropriate hand hygiene in the designated bathroom for an event.

DistanceCovid precautions

Social Distance

ENCOURAGED PRECAUTION

A designated staff person will be charged with monitoring that social distance is being maintained whenever and wherever possible during the event.

TracingCovid precautions

Contact Tracing Apps

ENCOURAGED PRECAUTION

We will be encouraging leaders and students to use contact tracing apps in order to be proactive about their exposure before arriving at an event.

Tie Dye Party | 7-8:30 PM

We will provide plain white, cloth face masks and multiple tie dye kits. Students will be able to tie dye a face mask that they can wear to all ofour summer programming events. Students can also bring their own t-shirts, socks, headbands, etc. to tie dye. Tie dying requires gloves to handle dye bottles, so all students will be wearing gloves. This way, we do not have to worry about disinfecting dye bottles in between students.
